BURY ME IN GHANA

A collaboration with NICOLE HEFFRON
It is customary in parts of Ghana to celebrate death and a person’s journey into the afterlife with an elaborate, fantasy coffin. These coffins are made to symbolize their professions, things of enjoyment or loves. For this series we wanted to celebrate some of the 20th century most notable characters and create own fantasy coffins in homage.
From John Lennon’s fixation on the board game Monopoly, Frida Kahlo’s favorite scent, Steve McQueen's beloved car or J Edgar Hoover’s fetishes. We hope these caskets would have helped them Rest In Peace or maybe they are still enjoying these things in the great beyond.
